Well after much debates/fights with friends; We picked up “Khoon Chala” as the the best RC-Combo till date. Runner-up?? Obviously Nadaan Parindey!!!
No, its nothing common with Lafangey Parindey. Penned by Irshad Kamil (remember Aaj Din Chadheya?) this beautiful and soulful composition made me spellbound in theatre and after coming from there, I am listening it non-stop. Yeah! completely soaked in it.
Here are lyrics. Rahman-Chauhan combo is the second rockstar of the movie (after Ranbir Kapoor). The complete album is awesome (OK! OK! not so classic as Lagaan).
Yeah! Watching Ra.One was a mistake. Just like MNIK, SRK was again in a Larger-than-the-life kindaa role. But even in this piece of crap, I got a gem. Nandini Srikar, not so known singer, delievered an awesome track “Bhare Naina”, much better than AKON’s Chammak Chhallo (Yuk!)
Here is a fusion song from Her:
And here is the Bhare Naina audio (please don’t see its video). BTW, apart from this song, My this month picks are Ishq-Risk and Subah hone naa de (Desi Boyz).
I bet most of you don’t know Mame Khan & Kavitha Seth. And whats the meaning of word “Baangur”?
Well, remember “Iktara” from Wake up Sid? The same trio (Amit Trivedi – our new Rahman, Amitabha Bhattacharya (not for lyrics but just for “Kise hai pata”) and Kavitha Seth are back along with Mame Khan (Aitbaar from “No one killed…”, where Amit and Amitabh were also there). And this time, one more lovely song “Baangur Jaisi Duniya”. I googled for the meaning of Baangur, and first time in my life got something worth on facebook here. Baangur means the net or trap to catch the bird.
Hmmm….. back to the day. Friday was one of the my best day in office. Actually It was supposed to be the most heart-breaking one, but at the end it turned out as memorable. The best “do svidaniya” (no its not Dasvidaniya) for Abhi from Hyd. Don’t know how much I am going to miss him in my Cubicle. Watched Prakash Mehra’s Zanjeer with Nani. BTW, Angry young man is back again and he is angry too.
Visited a temple after a long time (I m kind of Vijay, Vijay Deenanath Chauhan….. naam to suna hoga? Haeen?) With my grandma. The temple has an excellent look-n-feel. Every temple have its own way to irritate the GOD. This has its Aarti. Though I’m having very less experience of live-aartis and even my perception about it is totally based on Anuradha Paudwal auntie’s T-Series songs, I found temple aarti too irritating. How come beating metal-plates, drum in most wild manner can make your God happy?
Coming back to my b’day, Hmmm……Had a good time in office and home (went dinner with nani & Manki). Got calls/Msgs from friends, well-wishers.
After “Hanuman ji” with moustaches in B’lore, got to see a lion (with literal Human face) with moustach in Hyd. I’m sure if I go to chennai, will see a goat with moustache.

Sheru lal, pet-lion of Natthu lal
Ankit OFF, Ankith ON
BTW the year is still waiting for a Superhit! And this week its all about Tusshar bhaiya Vs Ekta Didi! Waiting for "Love U Mr. Kalakar" and "Ragini MMS" (Horror movie or Another LSD???). Bhagwan ke Ghar der hai per andher nhi hai, and Ekta is a good example….

Among performances Sanjay Suri, Rahul Bose, Abhimanyu Singh stand tall. And Juhi Chawla (after disastrous act in Kismat connection/Krazy 4) was brilliant. The most remarkable thing is how they have handled such serious, sensitive issue in such a wonderful way.
One interesting and unusual fact – The movie is released with subtitles as the characters speak their own regional languages (like Kashmiri/Bengali).
Though I felt that the script work done to connect the stories was not needed, but it didn’t affect the main stories. Good Job Onir and 400+ producers.
As we are left with only one Friday of the year (Tera Kya Hoga Johny & ADA…A Way of Life) , Its time to say sayonara to the year 2010. This year had many flops and less hits. In fact only 1 blockbuster (Dabangg) . After reading Khalid Mohamed’s top ten, I thought to make my fav top 10 movies list. and Here it is:
1. Udaan (watch out for the detailing of the movie)
2. Ishqiya
3. PGRO (Yes, even Neha Dhupiya can act!! Yes we Can) – for me, its Cult-classic like Jaane bhi do yaaron
4. Do Dooni Chaar (I m loving it)
5. Tere bin Laden
6. Peepli Live
7. Rakth Charitra 1 (Love U Bukka Bhai!!)
8. Dabangg – (Content-wise Do Kaudi ki movie ,but Sallu rocks)
9. KCK (first half only, The 2nd half was hard to believe)
10.Thanks Maa
I missed watching: Red Alert, BBB
Other candidates of List: LSD, Raajneeti, Striker
This year belongs to new/not-so-known directors such as Motewane, Abhishek Chaubey/Sharma, Anusha Rizvi, Subhas Kapoor). We also had bullshit gems like Houseful, TMK, MNIK, No Problem (Biggest Gem), Action Replayy, Veer, Kites, Break Ke Baad, IHLS, Aisha, Anjaana Anjaani,Khatta Mithaa
Happy DeenDayal Jayani to all of you!! Jai Eagle!
My Weekend started with 2 idlis and 1 plain dosa, which I had in my dinner. After coming to my room, I called Dada, chatted with Goldy, ‘the birthday boy’ and cooked the remaining half packet of Maggi, which we (Manki the Banar & Me) left yesterday. After finishing Maggi, I switched on my laptop and found that 2 movies, which I started on last Monday, got completely downloaded. The first one was “Dabangg”, which had bad print; and the other one was Arth by Mahesh Bhatt. Arth was loosly based on Bhatt’s relationship with Parveen Babi. Shabana Azmi played the role of Puja, wife of Inder Malhotra (played by Kulbhushan Kharbanda), who lost her husband to Kavita (Smita Patil). After a series of turmoil, depressions, hope; with the help of Raj (no, no not SRK-wala Raj this time, here played by Raj Kiran), finally she got the purpose and the meaning of her life. A stunning performance by Shabana Azmi. This was the first movie where I saw Kulbhushan as lead hero. Rohini Hattangadi (Munnabhai ki Maa) had a short but important role. Raj Kiran was positive. Rest don’t have much to do. Kangana was much better in "Wo Lamhe" than Smita Patil in this. Special bonus for watching this movie: Chitra & Jagjit’s music & Kaifi Azmi’s Songs!! A must watch… now its time to sleep!!!

Today is birthday of Kedarnath Bhattacharya, better known as Kumar Sanu; the king of hindi playback singing in early 90s. Often trying to imitate yodelling of Kishore Da, his songs reminds me the age of Nadeem-saravan, where we can hear almost same kind of tunes again and again. Not much experiments yet popular. Sanu successfully filled the gap created in men playback singing after death of Kishore da (my own perception, you may disagree with this). He won 5 consecutive Filmfares from 1990 to 1994 and delivered many hits.
One of his finest album was Aashiqui, from which he gained overnight success. My fav of Sanu includes Pardesh, 1942 – A love story, Baazigar, DDLG & Dhadkan.
Choose your fav from Kumar Sanu’s profile @ IMDb.
From Wikipedia: He broke a Guinness World Record by singing 28 songs in a single day in 1993. My few fav songs from youtube:
